Harry Bakes began in 1998 out of Harry’s passion for three things: coffee, moist cakes and travel. Grandson of Italian immigrants who were part of the a large scale migration of folks who brought coffee cultivation techniques and culture of coffee roasting, he experienced this crop first hand: from the collecting, hand-peeling, sun-roasting and manual grinding of coffee beans to the enjoyment of it through simple, traditional brewing methods.
After learning how to bake at an early age, his curiosity for other types of baked goods provided him with another perspective on how to explore international pastry and coffee shops during his travels. Cementing an appreciation for the history of baking and the genuine appreciation for the sublime coffee culture and its history.
Harry began the company in Miami selling baked goods and coffee at local farmers markets and now expanded to provide coffee beans by seeking the best local roasters that practice closely the Italian bean roasting tradition he so cherishes.
Thus, Harry Bakes Cafe is a celebration of family, tradition and simple ingredients provided in an ambiance that seeks to transport the guest to faraway lands or eras where social rituals brought people together, created memories and became part of a gathering routine at a place that became like a second home.
